In August 2020 AVOW launched its most recent program, “Profiles in Public Service©,” in response to a lack of representation by women on local appointed boards and commissions. Both the county commissioners and the mayor as well as state and national officials have agreed to contact AVOW when a position on a board or commission comes available in order to seek the names of interested qualified women to serve.
